AMEN. I can put wedding expenses on my credit card (the one that gives me miles), but just the sheer amount of excess in that ad gives me hives. I will not spend one penny over what I actually need

oh my god, this is like an advertisement for eloping by reverse psychology!
the scariest thing about wedding finances is that there is truly NO LIMIT to what you can spend. all the more reason to make a good budget and stick to it.

Preach it sister! My man and I have a strict policy, if we don't have the cash for it, we go without it. Way to start a life a big fat credit card bill.

Yikes. So much for any meaning to the event! I totally second kimberly--if you can't budget together for your wedding, how will you in the future?

Actually, I totally want to cut the last sentence out, and change it to "there were XXX and YYY and they wanted a party to celebrate their marriage. Date , Time, Place." and make it an invite. Is that wrong?
